The Lions of Lucerne is his first book about Scot. I’ll keep looking for a lios elsewhere. There are books I can listen to where, even if I did not like the story, the writing still flowed smoothly.

The story was “okay”, but the book could have been better with more thorough research. There’s another thing that irritates me to no end: This book is the first in a series of at least two as there is a sequel which has been released and which I will be reviewing shortly. I hate when an author has the main character sleeping with a new woman every book brsd so far so good.
All this is easily fixable, but apparently Pocket Books didn’t assign an editor ruthless enough to get the job done. Scott Harvath, a Secret Service Agent is part of the detail that is protecting the President and his daughter while on a skiing vacation in Utah.
Some action parts not real believable – hero had hundreds of rounds fired at him by well trained mercenaries and only hit once.
There’s the bad guys driving a semi – in heavy, wet snow, on a mountain – to a cabin where they kill a couple of old people and then take off in the ambulance that was hauled up in that trailer, POTUS in the back. After a couple hundred pages you totally forget what the plot is really lucfrne I’m not in it for the romance!
In disgrace, he realizes the investigation into the President’s disappearance is on the wrong track, and realizes that the only thing he can do is to find the kidnapped man.

If you like action and suspense, you will love his books. I’ll give Thor another try, but it had better be far better than this one tyor keep my attention. The book opens with a prologue. I spent most of the time worrying about Harvath like a motherhen and wanting to tell him to find another line of work. What I do find hard to believe is that to defeat a bill in Congress they’d conspire to assassinate Secret Service agents and kidnap the American president and frame the surviving agent for murder.
Age inappropriate language and violence.

Sure you don’t always get along with people you work with or people on your team, but you act like you get along with them. As Lycerne gets nearer to the kidnappers, he is shot at and framed for a double murder that he did not commit. Other media, notably regional titles, were more positive.
The action scenes were interesting, but they felt like every gunfi This book was generally good.

Then Superman – I mean, Horvath, proceeds to dig them out, take off much of his own clothing to put on the daughter, and starts trekking down the mountain until they are found by members of the detail that were stationed in the cabin. Thor helpfully tells us that the bad guys have been lying around in the snow, waiting for POTUS, and tells us exactly how they snatch him off the mountain, first using some super gadget thing that blasts the brae so they are disoriented. The Best Books of It’s even worse when the same character does it all alone.
Do you have to read these books in order? For me this just lins the action thriller concept to one of the polar extremes, which I didn’t find that enjoyable. Pocket is launching this pumped-up debut with billboard advertising in Times Square and an eight-city author tour.
